Courses for Fall or Spring in the Next Academic Year

Course commitments for the following academic year will be collected in November:

  • FYS course requests for the next academic year will be due December 1, 2023.
  • Planning for the entire academic year is necessary to adequately staff fall and spring sections with full-time faculty and staff/adjunct instructors in FYS and FYW courses.
  • Full-time faculty should discuss teaching interests with their chair and dean prior to submitting a commitment form. All full-time faculty wanting to teach an FYS must will out the form, but new course proposals will submit more information.
  • TCNJ staff should discuss FYS teaching with your supervisor prior to submitting a request.
  • All staff and adjunct instructors need to fill out the same Qualtrics form, but returning courses will submit less information. Before filling out the form, have your CV ready and an outline of your course content and major assignments.
  • See “what all FYSs need” above to start thinking about your course.
  • FYS Course Construction video
  • You will need a clear course title and student-friendly course description. See past examples in the FYS Course List.
